About Arrowsmith & Grant

Arrowsmith & Grant (A&G) Refrigeration was established in 1990 with the main aim of providing advanced engineering, designing, manufacturing, and servicing of high-quality refrigeration systems.

A&G engineer, design and manufacture all cabinets and refrigeration systems in our onsite factory in Dandenong South in Victoria and are proudly Australian owned and operated. All cabinets are manufactured using only the finest material in fabrication, utilising the latest technology, and are made specifically for variable environments, including high ambient temperatures and tropical climates.

A&G specialise in the design and manufacture of medical refrigeration, including blood refrigerators, plasma freezers and rapid plate freezers. Our blood refrigerators and plasma freezers are highly regarded in Australia as being the gold standard of medical refrigeration cabinets and are in pathology laboratories, hospitals, medical clinics and rapid response services throughout Australia.

Our rapid plate freezers were specifically designed and made for the Australian Red Cross Blood Service (now called LifeBlood). Our first rapid plate freezer was installed in Melbourne in the early 2000’s and we have now manufactured and supplied all LifeBlood processing centres throughout Australia. A&G have proudly provided medical refrigeration cabinets and service to Australia’s LifeBlood for over 24 years.

In 2016 we successfully tendered for our rapid plate freezers to be installed in the Hong Kong Blood Service and have had an ongoing relationship with five further rapid plate freezers installed since. We also perform regular maintenance and calibration on these rapid plate freezers.

In 2023 we successfully tendered for our rapid plate freezers to be installed in two New Zealand Blood Service sites.

A&G employ 20 staff and are keen to further expand our medical devices to international blood services and hospitals. We believe our medical devices play an important role in helping to ensure that patients who rely on blood and plasma receive the safest product possible.
