When it’s important think Arrowsmith & Grant.
Although these units are not QCPP certified they are manufactured with the same features and to the same standard as the vaccine refrigerator range. All fridges have high and low temperature alarms, a door open alarm and can be connected to an external temperature monitoring system.
Breast milk fridges are specialised units designed specifically for the safe storage of expressed breast milk. Pinnacle’s breast milk refrigerators are commonly used in maternity wards and neonatal units of hospitals, where the proper preservation of breast milk is critical to infant health. These refrigerators are engineered to maintain a consistent temperature below 5°C, ensuring that breast milk remains safe for consumption. For optimal preservation, Pinnacle’s units are designed to hold temperatures between 2°C and 4°C, which is essential for maintaining the nutritional and immunological properties of breast milk over extended periods.
These refrigerators are thoughtfully designed for easy access by parents and caregivers within maternity suites and rooms. They ensure that breast milk is stored safely, preventing spoilage or contamination while being readily available when needed. The reliable temperature control and specialized design make them an indispensable part of hospital environments where infant nutrition and care are a priority. Whether for immediate use or short-term storage, Pinnacle’s breast milk refrigerators provide the security and peace of mind that expressed milk is stored under ideal conditions.
All of the breast milk refrigerators shown utilise components that are readily available in Australia from local suppliers and distributors and Arrowsmith & Grant offer full support as well as regular maintenance and service throughout our own Australia wide support and distribution network.
Further information about Breast Milk Fridges & Freezers
In a hospital environment, Expressed Breast Milk (EBM) and colostrum must be kept exclusively in designated refrigerators and freezers to ensure safety and quality. The storage duration of EBM varies based on whether it is freshly expressed or has already been thawed, as well as the temperature conditions. Maintaining a temperature below 4°C requires a medical-grade breast milk refrigerator. Freshly expressed milk can remain stored for up to 72 hours, while thawed milk must be used within 24 hours. For extended storage, a breast milk freezer set to -20°C or colder can preserve EBM for 6 to 12 months.
Before use, frozen EBM needs to be defrosted. Thawing can be done in a breast milk refrigerator at ≤4°C over a 24-hour period. Once thawed, the milk can be safely warmed using one of our hospital-grade breast milk warmers, ensuring it is ready for consumption.
